Data Protection Policy

At CommaDash, we are obsessive about your privacy. This policy explains how we use Large Language Models (LLMs), manage security breaches, and handle your data.

Our Commitment To You

• No Training: We will never use the data you upload to train machine learning models.
• No Sale: We will never sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
• No Silly Business: Your data will only be used to deliver our services to you.

Should CommaDash or any of our services ever change ownership, we will provide you with advance notice. This will give you the opportunity to cancel or delete your account before the change. Furthermore, we will not transfer ownership to any entity unless they agree to abide by this policy.

How We Use LLMs

We have built a custom transformation pipeline, which includes the use of an LLM, to achieve high-accuracy transcriptions from unstructured content. LLMs, however, have a problematic history when it comes to how they've obtained the data used to train them, and we fully acknowledge that and take it very seriously.

Currently, we use Google Cloud® for this service; there is a formal agreement that forbids them from using any data we send to the LLM for training purposes, and they are required to delete the data immediately after the processing request is complete. They cannot hold on to it.

In the unlikely event this agreement is breached, we will notify all users immediately and pursue all available remedial actions.

Our Roadmap

Our use of an externally-hosted LLM is temporary. Our medium-term goal is to self-host our models within our own encrypted environment for complete control. As a new company, we are working to implement this as soon as it is financially sustainable.

Further improvements to privacy are on the way as well.

Data Control & Deletion

Here's how we handle deletion of your data in specific situations:

• Auto-Deletion: For users without an active paid subscription, uploaded files are automatically deleted after 3 months.
• Account Deletion: When you delete your account, all your stored data is permanently hard-deleted from our database and file storage.
• Book Deletion: When you delete a Book all associated pages are hard-deleted from the database and file storage.
• Page Deletion: When you delete a Page, its database record and stored file are hard-deleted.

Security Breach Policy

In the event that our systems are ever breached, all users will be notified as soon as we become aware of it, and will receive follow-up communication to report the actions being taken to remedy and rectify the breach.
